Rechitsa Museum of People's Glory

It was opened in November 1985 as a public museum of military glory in Rechitsa Secondary School No. 2. As the time passed, the stock material increased and new areas for the exposition were needed. In 1993 the museum got a separate building and was reorganized into the Museum of Folk Glory of the worker's settlement Rechitsa.

The museum's exposition presents the history of formation and development of the industrial center of the area — the worker's settlement Rechitsa from the ancient times to the present. It is placed in 4 halls and conditionally divided into 4 sections:

  • "From time immemorial". The section reveals the earliest information from the history of the village to the beginning of World War II.
  • "This Pain Cares for Hearts." The events related to the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of the settlement from the Nazi invaders are disclosed.
  • "Countrymen Veterans of World War II".
  • "The Labor Glory of the Workers' Village".

Museum funds include documents, photographs, decorations, letters from the front and personal belongings of soldiers of the Red Army, the best toilers of the workers' village, traditional subjects of labor and everyday life of local residents. Much material is collected about the soldiers and commanders of the 397th and 415th Rifle Divisions of the 1st Belorussian Front, who died liberating the town from the Nazi invaders, and also about the individuals who took part in the liberation movement during World War II.
